Concerned about fertility rates and want more people to have more kids? This ain't rocket science. Make kids more affordable to have. Do a universal basic income that includes kids. Do universal healthcare. Do universal childcare. Also, just do more in general to make the future look bright vs dim. https://youtube.com/shorts/1eI4TR8AS-8?si=gWwKWKx_4Wx71xxj Link to full episode: https://youtu.be/zdakSyxu75w?si=U1UFP2GxvG8lip9E Link to cited article: https://www.vox.com/future-perfect/2020/2/7/21125303/alaska-basic-income-birth-rate-fertility

@scottsantens@hachyderm.io Making kids "more affordable" doesn't change the fact that they would be born into a climate collapse dystopia of crop failures, food shortages, chronic droughts, catastrophic storms, collapse of the Atlantic ocean circulation, and heat waves so bad food can't even be grown some years. Is that what you want to bring kids into? Do you have a right to condemn future people to squalor, disease, and starvation? They didn't ask to be born. That's some wild hubris you have there.
